How to fix DotNetNuke application being “Not compatible” on godaddy.com

May 25, 2013

If you are trying to set up DotNetNuke on godaddy.com there are few things to keep in mind:

    •  the hosting plan that you purchased must be “Windows” hosting plan, not “Linux”.
    • DotNetNuke install on godaddy requires ASP.NET 4.o installed. By default the ASP.NET version that is setup when you purchase your hosting plan is 3.5. In this case, when you navigate to Hosting Control Panel -> More menu -> Applications -> Content Management category, DotNetNuke will be displayed in the list but it will be “Not compatible”:

To solve this issue, navigate to  Hosting Control Panel -> Expand Options and Settings -> Settings section -> Programming Languages -> Select ASP.NET 4.0 and click continue.

Now, when you go back to Applications, DotNetNuke will be available for install.
